Davy Spillane

Davy Spillane is an inspired musician on the uilleann pipes and whistles, blending melodies drawn from the well of traditional Irish music with invigorating new influences from abroad.

While still a teenager Davy Spillane became a founder member of Moving Hearts, the trad-rock group who are regarded as one of the most significant bands to have emerged in recent decades.

Following the band's split in 1986, Davy was in great demand as a musician for a wide range of artists including Kate Bush, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Enya, Steve Winwood and Chris Rea. Even dance sensation London Beat wanted Davy Spillane on their records. He also appeared as a soloist in the best-selling Riverdance album, video and theatrical hit.

Davy counts film soundtracks and television scores among his many credits. His fifth solo album, A Place among the Stones, was released in 1995 and another album is in the pipeline.
