Eoghan O'Neill

People first began to notice the talents of Eoghan O'Neill when the legendary Moving Hearts burst on to the Irish music scene in 1982.

Rock star Chris Rea spotted Eoghan at one of Moving Heart's final concerts and several years of recording and touring with the star followed.

Since then Eoghan has been the backbone of many rhythm sections, working with such prominent and varied artists as Terence Trent D'Arby, Christy Moore, Tammy Wynette, Daniel O'Donnell, Ronnie Drew and Mary Black.

Though known for his constant and varied studio work, Eoghan's main musical interest has always been the integration of the bass guitar within traditional Irish music. He co-hosted the traditional evening of the 1995 RTE Proms with percussionist Noel Eccles.

Eoghan also appears on Bill Whelan's best-selling Riverdance album.
