Ukulele
Not an instrument normally associated with Irish music, the ukulele (or in Hawaiian, "leaping flea"), like the bouzouki, cittern, mandoline and other stringed instruments, has begun to appear in traditional music of late.
This small four-stringed guitar originated in Portugal, and was brought to Hawaii by settlers from Madeira.It began to be popular in the USA early this century.
