Neil Finn

Coming from a musical background in his native New Zealand and spurred on by his older brother Tim, Neil's claim to the musical world seemed assured from an early age.

He first came to fame when his involvement in Tim's band Split Enz catapulted them to international success not only in Australasia but throughout Europe and North America.

There followed a time when the brothers pursued separate careers; Tim touring and recording and Neil going on to form Crowded House, writing his heart out and storming the world charts.

The two Finns came together again in the early nineties and, after a writing spree that smacked of "we", produced the album Woodface - a collection of songs that captures the swagger and skank of six weeks in Polynesia.

Another album - Finn, The Album inevitably followed shortly afterwards. The two brothers have continued to perform together and joined forces to write "Mary of the South Seas" for Common Ground, dedicated to their mother's journey from her native Ireland.
